Andrew Rea, perhaps better known as "Babish" from the NOcds channel "Babish Culinary Universe," answers the internet's burning questions about cooking.   • Why do i crack eggs on a flat surface? I've been using corners forever.. if i have to think about it. I'd guess because a corner pushes the shell to the inside at a much sharper angle than a flat surface would?.. more than that, i have no idea.

    • Both are correct. Also, most of the older dictionaries I've seen don't use the 'e' in there, so the idea of putting the e appears to be relatively new. Now, here's where I get pedantic. While 'bing" is a word - in Britain, it means a heap or a pile. The problem here is that it's a noun. Since it's not a verb, there would be no -ing suffix. Bing-ing that would rhyme with ringing doesn't exist. Accordingly, binging retains the prononciation it always did. So there's your answer.

  • Washing eggs is anothee one of these unessesary comlicated things amerika does. A few other countries do this too, but in general not washing them with soap but instead just rinsing them off is generally the way to go, since they can be stored more than long enough.
